The entire building is air-conditioned and handicap-accessible.
Building Access: St. Stephen's is a secure building. Other than for worship services and other church-related events, during the work week, to gain access, visitors must press a buzzer at either entrance to have the door unlocked. The upper and lower levels of the church building can be accessed from either the back entrance off Main Street or the main entrance on Washington Avenue. Entering via the back entrance requires using stairs to access the church building and each level. If using stairs is an issue, please enter the church building on Washington Avenue and, if needed, use the elevator in the narthex to access the lower level.
Church Office: The office is located in the narthex on the upper level of the church building. If visiting the church office during the work week, please park on Washington Avenue. Upon entering the church building, the church office is on the left.
Fellowship Hall: The multi-purpose hall is on the lower level. If using stairs is an issue, please park on Washington Avenue and use the elevator in the narthex to access the hall. Three bathrooms (including one handicap-accessible) is on the lower level. The hall is used for Sunday school classes, church events, and is the home of St. Stephen's Preschool.
General Parking: A parking lot is located off Main Street, in the back of the church building. Parking in the lot provides access to the back entrance to the church building. If using stairs is an issue, please park on Main Street or Washington Avenue and use the main entrance on Washington Avenue.
Handicap Parking: Posted handicap spaces are on Washington Avenue in front of the main entrance to the church building. Two ramps provide easy access to the entrance.
Narthex: The narthex ( or "lobby") is in the front of the building on the upper level directly inside the main entrance to the church building on Washington Avenue. The church office, the elevator, and a handicap-accessible bathroom are located in the narthex. Information about the church and our activities can also be found in the narthex.
The Sanctuary: The church sanctuary is located in the middle of the upper level, flanked in front by the narthex and behind by the sacristy, choir room, library/multi-purpose room, and 2 bathrooms. Entering from the main entrance on Washington Avenue, access to the sanctuary is through the narthex. Entering from the back entrance, access to the sanctuary is either 1) up the stairs, through the upper level hallway and entering the sanctuary from behind the altar, or 2) down the stairs, through the fellowship hall, and either up the stairs or taking the elevator to the narthex.
